Who is eligible for dental implants?

Patients who want to replace missing teeth using dental implants should be in general good health and have a healthy jawbone. If there is not enough tissue in the jawbone for an implant to be placed properly, we can perform bone graft surgery in our office to restore the jawbone first. Patients who have autoimmune disorders are not always good candidates simply because they tend to have a slower healing process. Patients who smoke should also refrain from smoking while they are recovering, as smoking can cause complications.

Should I get a dental bridge or a dental implant?

If you aren’t sure which choice is right for you, our team would be more than happy to help. While both dental implants and dental bridges are excellent restorative options, bridges are less invasive and less costly than dental implants, which is preferable for some patients. Dental implants, on the other hand, are incredibly stable and durable, and it is not uncommon for patients who receive dental implants to never have to modify or replace them. Should your implant ever need to be restored, however, our office can assist with that as well.
